A Look inside the Bachmann Times | Autumn 2019

The latest edition of the Bachmann Times, the official magazine of the Bachmann Collectors Club, has been distributed and is now arriving with our members. This issue features a wide selection of topics including our Works Report, how to build a N scale Quayside and we conclude our in-depth look at Class 37s!

Our latest OO scale Limited Edition model is based on the Bachmann Branchline BR Mk1 BG Coach as No. 92904 in Northern Belle Maroon and Cream livery.

The Northern Belle train service was launched in 2000 – providing luxury excursions to popular destinations across the UK. The company operates a train of up to thirteen coaches, formed of BR Mk1, Mk2 and Mk3 types. Each coach has been refurbished into the style of the luxury Pullman coaches of yesteryear and painted into the company’s eye catching Maroon and Cream livery with ornate crests and gold lettering, providing pure indulgence for their passengers.

Also in this edition, we have something for the N Scale modellers too!

Our latest N scale release is a twin-pack of BR Mk1 Coaches comprising ‘Laboratory 10’ and ‘Laboratory 11’. Both are former brake vehicles and are numbered RDB975428 and RDB975046 respectively – the two coaches joined the RTC fleet in the early- 1970s.

The RTC undertook a wide range of testing from the development of new trains, such as the Advanced Passenger Train (APT), to the investigation of age-old problems such as rail adhesion – for which an entire testing train was formed called the Tribology Train. Priced at £79.95 just 504 models have been produced and each includes a certificate of authenticity.
