The first examples of two highly anticipated OO scale models from Bachmann Branchline – the LNER V2 steam locomotive and the Class 47 diesel – are now arriving with Bachmann stockists, so we felt it was the perfect moment to take a look at these stunning new models in action on the garden railway of Trevor Jones.
Both the V2 and Class 47 are all-new models, having been designed from the rails up over the last few years, culminating in the cutting-edge models that are now appearing on the shelves of Bachmann stockists.

The LNER V2 has been a staple of the Bachmann Branchline range for many years, but 2021 sees an all-new model arrive which combines a highly detailed body with a high performance chassis, all of which is highlighted by the exquisite livery application. Each model incorporates all of the latest features that you would expect from a Branchline model, including firebox lighting, a pre-fitted speaker, plus SOUND FITTED versions of each locomotive. A Brush with the Best
The all-new Bachmann Branchline Class 47 diesel locomotive was only unveiled at the start of August, and the first examples of these revolutionary models are now arriving with Bachmann stockists. With an impressive specification, including countless detail variants to capture the subtle differences seen on the real Class 47s at various points of their career, the new ‘SOUND FITTED DELUXE‘ variant of the Branchline Class 47 takes things to another level. SOUND FITTED DELUXE models not only incorporate realistic sounds and lighting but they also feature rotating radiator fans, driven by an independent motor and gearbox and operated via a DCC function – or randomised when used on analogue control – plus tinted windscreens portraying for the first time the special coating applied to the windscreens of the real locos.
