2017 Bachmann Collectors Club Day

The 2017 Bachmann Collectors Club Members Day took place at the Mid-Hants Railway. Members enjoyed train rides along the line and were shown behind the scenes of the works and yard.

RIGHT: The yard at Ripley was open for club members to get up close to the railway’s fleet of operational locomotives.

LEFT: The Mid-Hants Railway is one of the few heritage railways to have a wheel drop, which enables the easy removal of wheels for servicing and maintenance.
RIGHT: The arrival of the first train ready to take Members to Alresford to start their activities for the day.

LEFT: Tours of the carriage works gave members an insight into the construction of wooden frame coaches such as these Bulleid vehicles.
RIGHT: As well as guided tours, the day included train rides behind a selection of locomotives.

RIGHT: We were blessed with glorious weather all day long. For members who had arrived a little earlier than required, there was plenty of action at Ropley yard to keep them entertained!
The Bachmann Collectors Club would like to extend its thanks to the Mid-Hants Railway for hosting us, and to all of the volunteers who gave their time to make the day such a success. Keep an eye out on our website for details on future events.
