Our Bachmann Branchline OO Scale Military Manoeuvres train set (30-130) is ideal for experienced modellers who are looking to bolster their layout, or for people who are looking to get into railway modelling. The set focuses on MoD (Ministry of Defence) operated railways which help move thousands of tons of supplies to support our troops. Small shunters marshall wagons and tankers into trains ready to begin their journey to the front line.

Featuring a Class 03 diesel locomotive and a small rake of wagons, you have everything included to help you achieve your end goal including an oval of track with a siding measuring 970mm x 1250mm, in conjunction with an AC mains wall transformer and controller. Our Military Manoeuvres train set is available to purchase from any Bachmann stockist.

The Class 03 was built by Swindon and Doncaster Works from 1957 until 1962 and is one of the most successful 0-6-0 diesel shunters to have operated on British Railways. They were built to work on light duties where it was not necessary to use larger locomotives, such as yard shunting and as station pilots. Due to the demand of shunting duties decreasing towards the end of the 1960s, the locomotives started to be withdrawn with a number of them being sold to private owners. The last Class 03 worked up until 2008 when it joined over 50 classmates in preservation.
