As with all of our factory fitted sound models, in both N & OO scale, the sound features on this Class 44 locomotive are not only restricted to DCC layouts. A selected range of sound effects will play on analogue layouts bringing a new level of realism to your model railway – whether it’s DCC or analogue controlled. Watch our video below to hear the full range of sounds available when using the model on DCC!

Ten Class 44 diesel locomotives were built at Derby Works between 1959 and 1960. They were named ‘Peaks’ by enthusiasts as they took their names from British mountains. Originally introduced for express passenger work, they later found use on freight work in the Midlands. Two locomotives have been preserved and are currently based at the Midland Railway and Peak Rail.

We have a selection of other available models in our Branchline OO scale range which carry the BR Green livery including:

  • 32-069 – Class 43 No. D841 ‘Roebuck’ in BR Green
  • 31-656 – Class 47 No. 47256 in BR Green
  • 32-533 – Class 55 No. D9001 ‘St. Paddy’ in BR Two-Tone Green
