The access to your account and shopping cart has also been improved to make it clearer. But don’t worry, all the usual favourites including our Limited Edition Club models still feature, now with bigger and clearer pictures, and our Club membership options for when it’s time to reneware all still there. We also have a welcome return of our ‘Gallery‘, where we have been going back through the archives from the past 10 years and included the latest pictures taken from more recent club events. So do take a look and see if you can spot yourself in any of the pictures from our Practically Perfect Sales and Club Members Days! Plus, we have our new feature, the BCC Blog where you can get all the news on what is happening in the Collectors Club.

This Spring

January was a busy month in the Club office getting everything ready for the Spring edition of the Bachmann Times Magazine. Writing and putting together all the various articles on railway modelling, prototypes, news, competitions, announcements, plus all the accompanying images and everything else that goes into the magazine is no easy task and we’d like to thank all those who have contributed, especially our editor Gary Boyd-Hope and designer Wendy Bayford, for all their hard work. This is a superb magazine, and we hope our members will enjoyed reading it when it arrived on your doorstep in early February. However, there is no rest for the team as the Summer edition is already being planned!

In the Spring edition of the Bachmann Times magazine, along with all the new models announced in the Branchline, Graham Farish and EFE Rail ranges, we also have all the details for our new Ex-BR Mk1 No.3136 ‘Diana’ in West Coast Railways livery (39-825K) and LNER V2 Class No.60800 ‘Green Arrow’ in BR Lined Green with Late Crest (372-614K/SF) Limited Edition Club models. In our members’ competition, you can win not one but two Bachmann locomotives! And that’s not the only double we have, as we are offering members discounted entry to both The London Festival of Railway Modelling in March and Model World LIVE in April. The Bachmann Branchline Class 69 and LMS 8F have the spotlight on them as we take an in depth look at all the fine details and variations that have been incorporated into the design of these superb models.

Also in this edition, our scenic modelling expert advises on creating a shunting layout design and takes us through the many possibilities of using Bachmann’s Auto-Release Couplings in ‘The Joy of Shunting’. Plus, we have articles featuring the Class 143 and 144 British Rail ‘Pacer’ DMUs, as modelled by EFE Rail, where we examine whether this much-maligned type deserves its unfortunate reputation. We explore the history and story of the simple but effective South Eastern & Chatham Railway ‘C’ 0-6-0s that survived in service for more than 60 years and we also look at the evolution and variations of the distinctive ‘car carrier’ wagon type from the big four up to BR days.Continuing our ‘Era 9 Revisited’ series, looking at current Train Operating Companies, we explore the two trading divisions of the West Midlands Trains franchise of London Northwestern Railway (LNR) and West Midlands Railway (WMR) and the models that recreate these multiple units in their eye-catching liveries.

We hope you have enjoyed reading this and all the other benefits of being a Club member, don’t forget to pop by and say hello to us at any of the exhibitions, shows and events we attend.

Thank you and take care from all the Bachman Collectors Club Team.
