Bachmann on the Road – Bluebell Model Railway Weekend

Last modified date

This weekend the Bachmann Roadshow team are descending on the Bluebell Railway for its annual ‘Model Railway Weekend’ which takes place on Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th June. Over 100 layouts and traders are expected for the two-day event, with stands to be found along the length of the railway. Access will be easy with an extensive steam train service in place to shuttle visitors between stations and giving you the chance to enjoy train rides on the historic line. The Bachmann stand will be located, along with other traders and exhibitors, at Horsted Keynes where we will display a variety of forthcoming models as well as being on hand to answer any of your questions.

Whilst visiting the Bluebell Railway, you will have the chance to see the only preserved Class E4 Tank and C Class steam locomotives. These classes appear as models in our 2018 catalogues in the form of our N scale Graham Farish C Class locomotive No. 271 in SECR Plain Green livery (372-775) and our OO scale Branchline Class E4 Tank No. 2517 in Southern Green (35-076A).

In October 2000, the Bluebell Railway announced plans to rebuild a Class H2 Brighton Atlantic based upon the SR/BR period “Beachy Head” which was cut up at Eastleigh just before the  Bluebell Railway preservation movement began. You can find a OO scale model of this locomotive No. 32424 ‘Beachy Head’ in BR Black, Early Emblem livery (31-921) in our current Branchline range and this is due for release later this year.

Our models of the Class H2 Atlantic and C Class are still in development but you can keep up to date with the latest news on these products by visiting our news blog or by talking to our Roadshow team at future exhibitions. The E4 Tank however is currently available and can be purchased from your local Bachmann stockist.
