Product Highlight: Collectors Club Exclusive JJA Mk2 Auto-Ballaster Wagons
It has been a quarter of a century since the Bachmann Collectors Club was first established and during that time, railway modellers have been able to gain access to many exclusive benefits through their club memberships.

The latest of these club exclusives are a duo of highly detailed JJA Mk2 Auto-Ballaster wagon models in OO Scale, which depict wagons that have been used since the turn of the century to lay ballast around the track and ensure that it has been accurately distributed at the correct height.
Both models are decorated in Network Rail livery, where the previous blue Railtrack paintwork had been painted over in yellow with black Network Rail branding. The newly painted areas have a pristine finish, which stands out when compared to the weathering on the unchanged sections.
Each model has a curved top and is assembled from hundreds of components that have been decorated with multiple paint and print applications. This has allowed for a high level of detail while also remaining durable, making the models suitable for both collectors who would like to put them on display and modellers who wish to run them on a layout.
38-212K – JJA Mk2 Auto-Ballaster with Curved Top
38-212K depicts wagon number 12918 and does not have a generator. Prototypically, Auto-Ballasters run in rakes of five wagons, four of which would often be of this type.
38-213K – JJA Mk2 Auto-Ballaster with Generator Unit
38-213K depicts wagon number 12976 and has a generator at one end. Prototypically, there is one generator wagon included in each rake of five Auto-Ballasters.
