Product Highlight: OO Scale 12T YOB Diesel-Hydraulic Cranes
Every railway requires maintenance equipment to ensure that the line is kept in perfect condition, so these new Plasser 12T YOB Diesel-Hydraulic Cranes from EFE Rail would fit perfectly on any OO Scale modern railway layout!
These models have been developed from the rails up for the EFE Rail range, and feature the jib of the crane stored in the stowed position. The body features several separately fitted parts, such as lamp brackets, handrails and brake handwheels along with numerous printed details. The buffer beams and base of the crane feature areas decorated with yellow and black wasp stripes.
Under the solebar, the bogies are fully decorated and are carried on metal wheels with a white trim. The underframe equipment between the bogies is also fully decorated with the same high level of detail as featured along the body. The models also all share the following features:

The YOB diesel-hydraulic cranes were developed in the mid 1970s and were largely used for relaying track at sites all over the country. With a safe working load of 12 tons, they were compact enough to allow them to be used without disrupting traffic on neighbouring lines. Whilst our models are unpowered, the real cranes were self-propelled to allow them to be easily moved around sites, although they were generally transported to the sites as part of larger engineering trains.
Plasser 12T YOB Diesel-Hydraulic Crane DRP81522 BR Departmental Yellow
Our first Plasser 12T YOB Diesel-Hydraulic Crane is No. DRP81522, which is decorated in BR’s Departmental Yellow livery. This wagon features the British Rail Double Arrow displayed prominently on each side, along with various logos, warnings and markings in red, black and white. The real No. DRP81522 has been preserved and can currently be found at the Swindon & Cricklade Railway. We wish to thank DRP81522’s owner, Ron Bailes, for the assistance he has provided during the development of this new EFE Rail model.

Plasser 12T YOB Diesel-Hydraulic Crane DRP81513 Departmental Yellow
Our next Plasser 12T YOB Diesel-Hydraulic Crane is No. DRP81513, which is also adorned in Departmental Yellow. This crane forgoes the BR Double Arrow, but instead features blue health and safety signs to remind the operators to wear hard hats and ear protection as well as various logos, warnings and other markings in red, black and white.

Plasser 12T YOB Diesel-Hydraulic Crane DRP81523 Javis/Fastline Maroon
Our final Plasser 12T YOB Diesel-Hydraulic Crane is No. DRP81523, which is decorated in Javis/Fastline Maroon with yellow panels at each end. Unlike the previous models, this crane is fitted with a jib support. The crane features yellow end panels, with warnings and other markings in blue, black and white.
