AC Models Eastleigh slots into place as Bachmann Retailer of the Year for 2024

It is our pleasure to announce that the coveted Bachmann Europe Retailer of the Year award for 2024 has been presented to AC Models of Eastleigh.

AC Models began trading in 2009, starting out as AC Slot Cars and run by husband and wife Clive and Annette Osborne – hence the ‘AC’ part of the name – and unsurprisingly specialised in slot cars owing to Clive’s interest in the pastime. From the start however, the couple catered for a range of model and hobby disciplines and have stocked Bachmann products from the very beginning.

The business quickly expanded and just a year after opening, a need for more space prompted a move to Eastleigh High Street. Further expansion was made possible in 2011 when the neighbouring shop was purchased. A decade later and an upstairs extension was added to provide a specialist retail area for remote control products, resulting in the model and hobby mecca that today attracts shoppers from Eastleigh and much further afield.

Annette gave up her own career to run the new venture upon opening in 2009, and she was joined by son-in-law Lawrence in 2015 who now helps to manage the shop. The family run business prides itself on providing outstanding customer service, with a strong emphasis on product knowledge allowing Annette, Lawrence and their team to guide customers to the right products to suit their requirements.

Today, this high street retailer stocks a wide range of Bachmann products alongside other major brands allowing shoppers to acquire everything they need to start, enrich or complete a modelling project, making AC Models a well-deserved winner of the prestigious Bachmann award.

Upon receiving the award Annette Osborne, owner of AC Models said: “’I would like to thank our customers and staff for their support over the years which has helped us build the shop into what it is today”.
