Bachmann Class 90 – Raising the Bar

Last modified date

The hotly anticipated Bachmann Branchline Class 90 Electric locomotives are now on their way to retailers across the UK. This all-new OO scale model is the first British-outline model to feature a DCC-operated pantograph and other highlights include an easy-access DCC decoder socket, sprung and retractable buffers (retractable option on certain models), full-depth cab interiors and switchable day or night lighting modes.

To coincide with the arrival of these models into models shops we have created a video giving you a closer look at some of the features of the model.

Shipping at the same time is our new Class 90 Decoder (36-569) which is specifically configured for use in this model. By using this decoder, you have full control of the pantograph and the five different lighting functions and the decoder also features the brake function. For DCC users wishing to fit an alternative decoder, such as a sound decoder to take advantage of the pre-fitted speaker, details are included of the CV settings required for several decoders from both ESU and Zimo. Decoders must be correctly configured for servo operation before being fitted to the model, otherwise damage to the servo or the decoder may arise.
