Product Highlight: Open a Bachmann Train Set this Christmas
We all know that a train set is for life, not just for Christmas, and a Bachmann Train Set makes both a wonderful Christmas present and a perfect starting point to enjoy a lifelong interest in the wonderful world of model railways.
Bachmann’s range contains many different sets in multiple scales, showcasing a large choice of locomotives and rolling stock that is sure to provide something for everyone. This Product Highlight features a selection of sets from the range that are currently available and that we think might be of particular interest during this festive time of year.
Each set contains everything that you need to get started for a model railway in your chosen scale; a locomotive and rolling stock, a circle or oval of track, an analogue (DC) controller, a power supply and a power clip. The style and type of contents may vary between sets.
370-052 – Western Rambler Train Set
Our first set is 370-052, which is the Western Rambler from the Graham Farish range of N Scale models. This set includes Era 3 Great Western Railway 64XX Pannier Tank locomotive No. 6406 in GWR Green, as well as a pair of 5 plank open wagons and a Toad Brake Van in GWR Grey. With N Scale you can fit a lot in a small space – the oval of track supplied in this train set takes up a space of just 714mm x 540mm.
30-180 – Station Pilot Train Set
Our next set is 30-180, which is the Station Pilot set from the Bachmann Branchline range of OO Scale models. This set includes Era 4 LNWR Webb Coal Tank locomotive No. 58900 in BR Black with the Early BR Emblem and three maroon BR Mk1 Coaches – a First Corridor (FK), a Brake Second Corridor (BSK) and a General Utility Van (GUV).
00642BE / 24208 – Thomas with Annie & Clarabel Electric Train Set
Our next sets are the Thomas with Annie & Clarabel Electric Train Sets from the Thomas & Friends range. These are available in OO Scale under product code 00642BE and N Scale as product code 24028. Both scales contain Sodor’s No. 1 locomotive Thomas the Tank Engine in blue, along with his two coaches Annie and Clarabel in orange. Our OO Scale Thomas & Friends train set is even suitable for children as young as 3 years old, making this the perfect starting point for the younger enthusiast.
24017 – Spirit of Christmas Train Set
Moving on to sets that are more traditionally Christmassy, we have 24017, the Spirit of Christmas in N Scale from Bachmann Trains (USA). This set contains an 0-6-0 Tender Locomotive, two old-time Passenger Coaches and an old-time Combine Coach, all decorated in the Christmas colours of red and green.
00724 – Jingle Bell Express Train Set
Our penultimate set, 00724, is also from Bachmann Trains (USA). This set is the Jingle Bell Express Train Set in HO Scale. This set comprises of a red 0-6-0 Tender Locomotive with operating headlight and coal tender, a red and white Single-Dome Tank Wagon, a cream and orange Box Car wagon, a grey Quad Hopper wagon and a red Offset Cupola Caboose.
00751 – North Pole Express Train Set
Our final set is 00751, which is the North Pole Express Train Set in HO Scale from Bachmann Trains (USA). This set contains a 2-6-2 Tender Locomotive in black with operating headlight and smoke, along with a Heavyweight Coach and Heavyweight Observation Car in blue and maroon.
