Product Highlight: OO Scale OBA and ZDA Wagons
It’s been about a year since the OBA Open Wagon returned to the Graham Farish range, and so it’s only fitting that this year, OO Scale models of the the same wagons, along with the reclassified ZDA Open Wagon, return to the Bachmann Branchline range as well.
These models depict the wagons with the usual level of detail that you would expect from Bachmann Branchline. There are multiple versions available, covering both the variants with low ends and those with high ends. The planks along the sides of the wagon are finely moulded, as are the stanchions and door stops. The wagon also features several separately fitted and decorated parts, including the brake equipment, handbrake levers, and metal buffer heads
The OBA Open Wagon was designed in the 1970s to carry general merchandise up to a maximum of 31 tonnes. The design was based on the similar OAA wagon from the previous decade, and featured doors along the sides to enable easy loading and unloading. In the early 1980s, several wagons were reassigned to departmental use. These wagons were reclassified with the code ZDA and given the nickname ‘Bass’.
